The Nuclear Mission Branch, Space Vehicles Directorate, RVBNI seeks to hire a mid-level Technical Project Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prometheus is an AFRL-led partnership with government and commercial space industry for high-cadence, recoverable, reliable, and cost-effective orbital and hypersonic reentry experiments. Its multiple platforms offer exposure to Mach 25+ flight environments and payload recovery for TRL advancement and S&T maturation.
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership in the implementation of systems engineering processes
- Lead system level technical requirements development, management, and control for the Prometheus effort
- Support the Prometheus effort in full lifecycle project systems engineering including development, execution, and systems analytic methods that support technology and re-entry platform maturation, test, and evaluation
- Serve as interface between RVBNI, stakeholders, contractors, end-users, suppliers, and test organizations
- Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and requirements management systems to capture critical program information and inform decisions during system development
- Support creation and maintenance of digital models for development and integration efforts on current and future programs
- Oversee configuration management efforts between Prometheus project teams, external government organizations, industry partners, and other stakeholders
- Participate in test planning to include MRTFB (Major Range and Test Facility Base) interface and associated processes
- Foster collaboration with DOD partners and stakeholders

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, science or related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading systems engineering efforts of large, complex assembly, research, and/or development programs
- Significant knowledge of systems engineering practices including requirements development/management, design, failure and risk assessment, and verification/validation
- Knowledge of systems engineering tools and techniques, project work planning, scheduling, cost estimating, budget management, and project control
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DOD TS/SCI clearance
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years leadership or personnel management in relevant large programs
- Experience leading systems engineering efforts associated with space programs or weapons programs
- Demonstrated ability to promote and maintain productive relationship across internal, external, and customer organizations
- Demonstrated ability to meet schedule and technical deliverables for multiple large, concurrent projects with a range of priorities
