This opportunity is for anyone interested in the role of Portfolio Technical Lead within the Air Warfare Directorate at the grade of DR-03 and DR-04 for multiple occupational series.

The Portfolio Technical Lead serves as the science and technology authority for a respective portfolio and supports the Engineering Board (EB) and Directorate Technology Advisory Committee (DTAC). Provides advice and counsel to Portfolio Leads on systems engineering and program management matters and is responsible for technical coordination of the Capability Portfolios. Incumbents will lead a multidisciplinary workforce and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high‑impact results.

Major Duties:

  • The primary role of this position is the science and technology authority for a respective portfolio.
  • Responsible for technical coordination of the Capability Portfolios.
  • Works with Portfolio Leads and Capability Portfolio Leads to ensure technical conduct, progress, performance, program objectives, costs, schedules, and results are executed in compliance with established requirements and program execution plans, and as defined by each Portfolio or Capability Portfolio’s tailored approach.
  • Represents Portfolio in support of the Engineering Board (EB) and Directorate of Technology Advisory Committee (DTAC).
  • Provide advice and counsel to Portfolio Leads on systems engineering and program management.
  • Works directly with the Division Technical Advisors and Division Chief Engineers
  • Interprets and deconstructs warfighter needs from the DOW, DAF MAJCOMs, CCMDs, and internal/external organizations via interaction, coordination, collaboration, and/or consultation in the context of RA engineering outputs.
  • Leads, with coordination of the Portfolio lead, official internal and external customer engagement processes within the scope of S&T in the Portfolio and Capability Portfolios.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance. Some positions may require the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (DR-02/GS-13 for DR-03; DR-03/GS-14 for DR-04), or equivalent experience in other pay systems.
  • This position may be filled under multiple occupational series. Applicants are required to meet all OPM Qualification Standard requirements for the applicable occupational series and grade.
