The Information Protection Branch (AFRL/RYSI), Sensors Directorate seeks to hire an Entry-level Security Specialist, DO-0080-01 in Dayton, OH.
- Serves as a Security Specialist providing personnel, industrial, information, operations, and physical security program support for the Sensors Directorate.
- Applies security knowledge to perform duties supporting and/or improving the efficiency and productivity of the Information Protection Branch.
- Analyzes and resolves difficult but routine problems within an assigned area of responsibility, sometimes under the guidance of a senior security specialist.
- Plans and carry out work based on established security guidelines and supervisor's priorities and deadlines.
- Uses judgment in selecting, interpreting, and adapting security guidelines and procedures.
- Communicates routine information and develops formal written communication, often with supervisory review and revision.
- With guidance, effectively adjusts communication to the audience's level of understanding. Has speaking skills required to deliver basic briefings.
- Interacts with customers on routine security issues to coordinate actions within the Information Protection Branch.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DU-02/GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
- The ability to obtain and maintain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) Security Professional Education and Development (SPeD) security certifications within two years.
- Applicants must have extensive verbal and written skills with the ability to speak in front of large audiences.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree desired
- Experience working with Scientist and Engineers within DoD Research and Development organizations
- Experience working/leading security efforts in a multi-level security environment
