Position Duties include but not limited to: 
  • Serves within leadership core of the Agile Space Operations Software Branch (RVSX) Branch to guiding designing and management of the Defense Readiness Agile Gaming Operations Network Development Projects and Team for the Space Commercially Augmented Mission Platform (Space CAMP). [Space CAMP is an agile software development activity within the Department of Defense (DoD).] 
  • This position leads an 80-member military, civilian and contractor team to accomplish development of the IT backbone for Joint Task Force Space Defense (JTF-SD) Commercial Operations, to include the screening, merging, and data mining of over 200K daily commercial sensor collects. The team is spread across multiple organizations and multiple contracts, and requires active leadership to unify the direction of work. Lead deliver of operational software to JTF-SD Commercial Operations on 2-week cycles. Manages cost, schedule and performance on a $20-million per year portfolio and 14 contract vehicles. Identifies and leads technical integration efforts for innovative SBIR efforts. Plans and facilitates tri-annual multi-day global SDA exercise. Conducts analysis for tech architecture integration within AFRL and SSC.
  • Leads discussion at working and senior levels with the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM), United States Space Force (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC) Units, Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Offices, Space Readiness and Training Command Organizations, and other Space CAMP customers to design and implement an underlying data strategy for the branch’s agile software development efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen.
  • Must possess a Computer Science degree, undergraduate or graduate, from an accredited academic institution.
  • Must possess Practitioner Certification in APDP Program Management or a Masters of Business Administration or
  • Project Management Professional certified. Other equivalent project management certifications may be considered.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DR-02 or DR-03 or equivalent grade level within the Department of the Air Force. Specialized experience is experience providing the capacity and skills for working independently, leading collaborative events, working in teams and using these approaches to find and solve complex problems. Such experience may also include training, collaborative process facilitation, innovation design practice, writing background, editing job roles, continuous process improvement credentials, multi-agency liaison work, published work in refereed technical journals, and/or briefings to large groups.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience as a software developer tech/team/project lead.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must have significant previous engagement / networking within the USSF community, to include an understanding of USSF mission areas and organizational structure and mission areas. Must have demonstrated capacity to coordinate and forging consensus with senior leaders at the General Officer or Senior Executive Service level.

Desired Qualifications

  • Detailed technical experience in working with DoD DevSecOps platform
  • Previous experience as a Data Architect or a Data Scientist
