The Premier College Intern Program is designed to prepare program participants for future science, technology, engineering, mathematics, cyber, acquisition, intelligence, mission critical and vocational/technical specialty positions in the Air Force Civilian Service.
This objective is accomplished by:
- Recruiting and selecting high-caliber candidates
- Strategically placing interns with managers committed to development
- Building competent, effective, and productive employees
- Providing training and challenging assignments
- Deliberate mentorship by higher-level management
Premier College Interns (PCIs) will have the opportunity to access special projects using cutting edge technology, while under the mentorship of senior managers. The paid 12-week internship will occur during the summer of their Junior year (before heading into Senior year) for undergraduate participants. A few positions may be available for exceptional college sophomores. Upon graduation and completing program requirements, a Premier College Intern may be eligible for a full-time position into an Air Force formal training program - PALACE Acquire (PAQ) or COPPER Cap.

Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a baccalaureate degree program
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.95 or higher
- Obtain necessary security background checks/clearance
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited academic institution
- Must have completed at least 60 credit hours in program and have at least one full year remaining in degree program.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that requirement does not currently apply. Federal agencies may request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, travel restrictions, screening testing, and restriction from the workplace.
