The AFRL Munitions Directorate (RW) seeks to hire a DR-03, Strategic Initiatives Program Manager within the Integration and Operations Division (RWO) at Eglin AFB in Valparaiso, Florida.  The ideal candidate will have experience leading and managing diverse, multi-functional teams; identifying requirements; managing developmental programs/projects; and experience across the Weapons Enterprise, developing and integrating weapons systems. Position duties include, but are not limited to:  

  • Leads, guides, and directs a multi-functional team of Weapons Enterprise organizations in the execution of the Weapons Technology Integration Center (WTIC) program.
  • Applies expert knowledge and advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to ensure assigned projects/processes remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies. 
  • Demonstrates a mastery of, and skill in applying, innovative multidisciplinary practices, techniques, and methodology to identify, analyze, and resolve issues; ensures resolutions are consistent with program objectives. 
  • Demonstrates creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements. 
  • Collaborates, interacts, coordinates, and/or directly consults with AF, other governments, DoD, academic, and industry partners.
  • Advises senior management regarding program status and impacts to cost, schedule, performance.
  • Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of senior management. 
  • Applies a number of diverse engineering practices, techniques, and processes to identify and resolve difficult issues, as well as ensure resolutions are consistent with program objectives, existing policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Must be eligible for and maintain a top secret security clearance.
  • This position is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position.  Applicants for this position must list any acquisition certifications.
  • Must have 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade, DR-02 (or equivalent) for promotion consideration.
