Position Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Serves as team lead for the Indo-Pacific/Americas Team to enhance an integrated international effort into AFRL's Business and Strategic planning efforts.
  • Supports AFRL process optimization, develops methods for improving program execution, creates transformational international policies and procedures, and formulates effective strategies consistent with the business and competitive strategy of the organization in a global economy.
  • Identifies and keeps up-to-date on key international policies and economic, political, and social trends that affect AFRL's key organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provides technical expertise in consulting and supporting roles for all international issues for AFRL, and direct support to AFRL/CC, CA, CT, and senior leadership (Technology Directorates) for International activities. 
  • Responsible for running international forums; and leading the efforts in executing AFRL's role in development of international partnership agreements.
  • Ensures critical international activities between AFRL and Foreign Governments/Countries are accomplished in a timely and professional manner (e.g. Forums, Agreements, Visits, etc), and interfaces with representatives from each of the Lab technology directorates, Air Staff members, SAF/IA, AFWIC, AFSAC, NASIC, personnel from AFMC enterprises, and SAF/AQ.

Required Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship
  • Applicant must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled. Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards can be found at: General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov).
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DO-02, or equivalent in other pay systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with and supporting Senior Level Personnel (General Officers and Civilian Equivalents).
  • Ability to lead teams, working collaboratively with both internal and external partners (to include foreign countries).
  • Experience planning and assigning work to be accomplished by team members, setting and adjusting priorities, and preparing schedules for the completion of individual work efforts.
  • Advising supervisor on team member contributions, performance, progress, and training needs. 
  • Knowledge of the International Armaments Cooperation.
  • Excellent communications skills to include writing and verbal (i.e. briefings).
