Job Overview

The AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate seeks to hire a motivated IT professional to serve as an IT Projects & Assets Lead in the Cyber Systems & Information Management Branch of the Integrations and Operations Division. This position will be filled at the GS-13 level and is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. This posting closes on 07 Jul 23.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies, plans, initiates, and coordinates acquisition of required IT resources for wide variety of IT projects.
  • Oversees design and implementation activities to ensure capabilities & resources implemented through IT projects meet security requirements.
  • Reviews state of existing IT assets for supportability and lifecycle planning.
  • Effectively communicates with range of contractors and government personnel to promote timely execution of projects, promoting visibility and integration across all stakeholders.
  • Develops plans for technical resources and works with fiscal teams/business managers for annual IT spend-plan forecasting for IT project needs.
  • Communicates with RX leadership regarding sustainability risks & opportunities, as well as progress of major projects/initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other IT leaders within directorate and across AF/DoD to promote bi-directional sharing of requirement initiatives, solutions, and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain Secret clearance.
  • Must have baseline certification meeting DoD 8570.01M Cyber Workforce Improvement certification(s) meeting IAT level II or obtain within 6 months of assignment.
  • Must have Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Information Technology Level II or Engineering Technical Management Practitioner Certification or obtain within 60 months of assignment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing and overseeing implementation of organizational IT projects.
  • Experience communicating on IT technical challenges, opportunities, and capabilities at various audience levels with organization partners.
  • Experience leading a technical group of contractors and/or government executing IT projects support for DoD organizations.
  • Certifications, training, or degrees in IT standards or best practices.
  • Certifications, training, or degrees in IT process improvement or management of information systems.
  • Working knowledge of DoD IT environment.
  • Experience using a diverse range of network designs and concepts.
  • Understanding of network protocols and data flows.
  • Experience working with systems using range of operating systems versions and applications.
