This position is an opportunity for a highly motivated, innovative, and proactive systems engineer with modeling experience to provide contributions to the nation’s defense in a research and development environment. This position provides challenging opportunities to expand the applicant’s systems architecture modeling and trade space analysis skills. Areas of interest include Digital Engineering, model-based engineering, system-of-systems, architecture modeling, and analysis of data and model intensive systems applying data curation and analysis techniques.
Position duites include, but are not limited to:
- Combining, curating, and tracking physics-based inputs from multiple Turbine Engine, Air Vehicle, and Air Vehicle Subsystem Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create multi-fidelity models appropriate for use in System-of-Systems and Capability level Systems Engineering models.
- Defining and articulating major uncertainties associated with developed models, defining and analyzing risks and opportunities associated with the uncertainties.
- Supporting legacy and digital requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes.
- Interfacing and teaming with other organizational MBSE engineers to provide optimized models to support organizational planning and decision-making.
- Developing tools and processes to streamline the development of these models.
- Supporting data and model generation, design and implementation of digital curation methodologies, and developing value-propositions for digital engineering artifacts from alternative architectures
- Work within a digital engineering ecosystem that conducts peer reviews of data and models to establish a defendable Authoritative Source of Truth for a portfolio of aerospace system concepts.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Must be eligible to possess a SECRET level clearance. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Master’s Degree in relevant technical discipline (Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or the like), or Bachelor’s Degree in such a field with at least 5 years relevant experience. Degree’s must be from an institution accredited by ABET, or recognized by ABET through international agreement.
- Proficiency using UML/SysML, and experience with Model-Based Engineering approaches, methods, and techniques
- Proficiency with software packages such as Cameo, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, and Enterprise Architect
- Experience with software development methods and object-oriented programming skills with Java, Python, C++, and C#.
- Data analytics/data science skills, including one or more of the following languages and/or data visualization tools: Python, R, JavaScript, SQL, and Tableau
Desired Qualifications
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining a TS/SCI and SAP DoD clearance
- Familiarity with Turbine Engine Technology, especially system level modelling and simulation.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle, trade studies, requirements, and interface definitions.
- Familiarity with full lifecycle development methodology skills including modern development processes such as Agile Development, Scrum, DevOps, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Interest in complex multi-disciplinary problems and ability to work with colleagues across engineering domains.
- Ingenuity for applying a set of technical skills across multiple subject matter fields.
- Demonstrated ability to build and shape workflows and teams through collaborative and effective partnerships.
- Demonstrated strong oral/written communication skills.
