AFWERX seeks to hire a mid-level DO-0301-03 Supervisory Program Specialist (Branch Chief) in the NEW AFWERX Business Operations Branch (AFRL/RGO).

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as AFWERX Business Operations Branch Chief. Leads the branch responsible for operational resource management, facility curation, Defense Travel System (DTS) program, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, enterprise A&AS contracts, and Unit Self-Assessment Programs (USAP).
  • Serves as focal point for the resource planning working group, in addition to ensuring staff integration and coordination, taskings, and dissemination of business operations information across AFWERX.
  • Provides programmatic expertise to develop comprehensive plans and strategies for day-to-day and long-range business operations projects, programs, actions, activities, and resources.
  • Administers DoD, DAF, AFMC, and AFRL business operations policies, recommending new processes, practices and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency across AFWERX.

Pay Range: $101,420 - $143,324 base salary without locality. The locality will be determined based on the selected candidate's location.

While the official position location is based in Austin, TX, this position is 100% remote within the continental United States, no relocation is required nor will it be provided.

Required Qualifications

US Citizenship

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR/DO-02/GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience with USAP (Unit Self-Assessment Program), DTS (Defense Travel System), GPC (Government Purchase Card), and GTC (Government Travel Card).

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Confidential Financial Disclosure filing (OGE 450) required.

Desired Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree is highly desired.

Certifications as an AO, ODTA, and APC and meet the requirements for GPC and WAWF access. Strong background in organizational leadership and DAF unit-level business practices.
