The HQ Personnel Directorate seeks to fill a DO-02 (GS-13 Equivalent) Lead Military Personnel Advisor to the AFRL Commander and Vice Commander.  Position will advise on a wide range of military personnel programs, policies, and procedures and serves as a subject matter expert and senior analyst on a wide variety of subjects that impact military human resources across the AFRL enterprise. 
Position duties include but are not limited to:
  • Conducts one-on-one strategy sessions and provides detailed recommendations, advice, and opinions to AFRL CC/CV on a myriad of military personnel issues. 
  • Provides authoritative advice and counsel to achieve military officer assignments and entitlements throughout the entire AFRL enterprise. Manages AFRL military assignments for all active-duty military personnel to include overseeing Officer Promotion Boards and Permanent Change of Assignment Boards. Monitors and executes Advanced Academic Degree Program on behalf of AFRL leadership conveying requirements to SAF and AFIT for future course requirements. Sole AFRL POC to AFPC for managing follow-on assignments for AAD program graduates. 
  • Advises senior management on the impact of proposed changes such as reorganizations, realignments of functions, legislative changes, etc. and performs extensive management advisory services and program support to active-duty personnel in all AFRL organizational echelons to include geographically dispersed locations. 
  • Executive Agent for AFRL Leadership representing AFRL military personnel requirements to SAF, USSF, AFPC, AFMC, SSC, ARPC, and AFIT and communicates AFRL positions on military personnel management matters to HQ AFMC. 
  • Manages the AFRL Military High-Grade Program and facilitates the AFRL Command Screen Board (CSB), validating CSB requirements. 
  • Manages the AFRL "Colonel Gameplan" including coordinating with AFRL/CC and CV on determining bids for positions to be filled through the Gameplan and preparing/updating PDs and Org Charts for new/modified colonel positions. 
  • Briefs representatives of serviced organizations and serves as a human resources advisor/expert in representing the Division and the Directorate in high level meetings, conferences, and work groups.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Expert knowledge of military data systems (Personnel Display Records Application (PRDA), Assignment Management System (AMS), Base Level Service Delivery Model (BLSDM), Talent Marketplace, MyVector, etc.)
  • Military Personnel Experience, and knowledge of Promotion Boards, Sr Leader Management, and an understanding of Military Personnel Record
