The AFRL/RW seeks to hire a DR-0801-02, Engineer, for the Digital Materiel Management Branch (RWID) within the Technology Integration Division (RWI) at Eglin AFB in Valparaiso, Florida. The ideal candidate will have experience managing software development initiatives, using digital tools for program management, data visualization, and model-based systems engineering, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop digital materiel management solutions.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop digital engineering requirements in collaboration with directorate stakeholders to achieve an authoritative digital ecosystem for basic, exploratory, and advanced research and development (R&D) of munition concepts and technologies.
- Develop requirements for digital materiel management contracts in collaboration with directorate stakeholders for agile, digital, open systems to ensure rapid science and technology (S&T) evaluation and transition of munitions technologies.
- Manage software development, test, prototyping, and training of digital materiel management and digital engineering toolsets developed within an agile software development environment.
- Develop technical performance measures and complete technical evaluations of contractor deliverables to assess progress.
- Perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals for digital materiel management and digital engineering solutions.
- Assist with design and integration of databases, search features, data visualization, and automated processes to accelerate technical development and programmatic oversight of munitions technologies.
- Assist with near-/mid-/far-term plans identifying technology areas for R&D to provide strategic materiel solutions aligned to directorate priorities.
- Facilitate interactions with industry, international, and academic communities as well as other U.S. Government agencies on new technologies and their application to solve operational requirements.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a top secret / SCI security clearance.
- This position is a Drug Testing position.
- Must possess an engineering degree from an accredited academic institution and provide official transcripts when applying. General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov)
- Applicant must list degree information on resume to include any professional military education.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Practitioner Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management. The selectee will have 24 months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. Applicants for this position must list any acquisition certifications in their resume.
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DR-01/GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a team environment with military and civilian scientists and engineers.
- Experience architecting/developing software and using a digital enviroment.
- Experience managing agile, digital, open programs.
- Experience with digital tools for program management, data visualization, and model-based systems engineering (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Tableau, Cameo, and PowerApps.
- Experience with briefing and communicating with senior leaders and peers.
- Knowledge/experience integrating software tools in a digital engineering environment.
- Knowledge/experience executing DevSecOps in DoD environments (e.g., PlatformOne/CloudOne).
- Technical master's degree/PhD from an accredited university/institute.
