The AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate seeks to hire a motivated and experienced Facility Management Specialist to serve as a specialist in operations, real property and construction management in the RXOE Engineering Services and Operations Support Branch of the RXO Division.  

 

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of duties requiring knowledge and skill in applying Facilities operations management principles, methods and techniques to meet mission requirements.
  • Represents AFRL/RX officials at AFRL Wright Site and AFRL/HQ conferences to advise on current and future status of facilities management, operations, design and construction plans and programs in support of AF scientific research and development.
  • Works with other divisions and outside agencies to integrate and coordinate technical projects and prepares final products, which include briefings, data calls, point papers, etc.
  • As Facilities Management Specialist, works with Wright Site, AFRL, AFMC, other DoD, and outside organizations. 
  • Serves as subject matter expert to ensure compliance with various policies and codes.
  • Manages HVAC systems, controls, associated sensors and data to accomplish troubleshooting and reporting to extended team and mission partners.
  • Provides guidance & recommendations to management, including briefs, to resolve findings from audits, inspections & site visits from varying Agencies and Units.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of the Directorate's Real Property systems status and strategy.
  • Creates, develops & coordinates data & information packets requested from higher HQs or other agencies.
  • Develops and institutes policies and procedures to assure compliance.
  •  Represents AFRL/RX at process improvement events directed at any aspect of Facilities, Infrastructure, and real property.

This position will be filled at the DO-II (GS-13 equivalent) and is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio.

This position may be filled as a 5-year Modified Term Appointment (current government term employees, etc.) with the option to later convert to a permanent appointment.

Required Qualifications

  • SECRET Position designation
  • US Citizen
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, GS-11/DO-01, or equivalent in other pay systems. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Candidate with prior DAF Laboratory Facilities Program experience is preferred.
  • Candidate with prior military service experience is preferred.
  • Candidate with prior Operations experience preferred
  • Candidate with prior facility design and construction experience is preferred.
  • Candidate with a Siemens/Niagara Controls credential certificate is preferred.
  • Candidate with a Bachelor degree is preferred.
  • Candidate resume must clearly articulate relevant prior experience and functional area compliance experience
