Job Overview

This position will serve as the Site Information Technology Branch Chief and will be responsible for leading a team ensuring the sound execution of all IT, network management, computer resource management, telecommunications, office automation, cybersecurity, software development, video teleconferencing, IT portfolio management, new project development, legacy project sustainment and other IT operations.

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the Corporate Information Division's Strategic Plan.

  • Ensures properly developed documentation and branch level execution of strategic vision related to and in conjunction with the Corporate Information Division's strategic plan.

  • Maintains working relationships and engages with AFTC, AFMC & AFRL IT related personnel in order to advance functional IT operations within AFRL's interests.

  • Oversees proper planning and execution of the Branch's budget.

  • Serves as Human Resources Liaison as needed and oversees the proper planning and execution of all Branch Human Resource actions.

  • This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level II Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technology Management (ETM). The selectee will have 24-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. Applicants for this position must list any acquisition certifications and status as an acquisition corps member in their resume.

Required Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the D0-02/GS-12 or equivalent grade level

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Certified IAM Level I within the DoD Approved 8570 requirements

  • Significant knowledge of project management within the DOD environment

  • Active Security Clearance

  • Ability to apply IT security principles, methods, and security products throughout the system life cycle management process

  • Experience in a supervisor role and/or leading teams

  • Previous Information System Security experience revolving around the Risk Management Framework

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Information Security, Software Development or equivalent

  • Specialized experience providing the capacity and skills for working independently, leading collaborative events, working in teams and using these approaches to find and solve complex problems. Such experience may also include training, collaborative process facilitation, innovation design practice.
