AFWERX Senior Engineer (Integrated Test Lead)

AFWERX seeks to hire a mid-level DR-0801-03 Senior Engineer, in AFWERX Prime (AFRL/RGP). The incumbent will serve as the Integrated Test Lead responsible for managing all AFWERX Prime test programs to include both manned and unmanned systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developmental testing and evaluation of ground and flight systems; proficiency in the development of test plans, test cards, and other test planning process and requirements, including technical and safety review boards; and proven leadership, communications, and experience in managing and leading research and development test programs.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performs expert level multidisciplinary professional engineering work to manage and lead test operations for the Prime division.
• Advises test managers and leadership on test management policy requirements and helps leadership formulate local test management policy and procedures as required to accelerate test processes.
• Supports test managers with the development of test plans, test cards, and other required test and safety products such as technical and safety review board materials.
• Mentors, trains, and educates the geographically dispersed workforce on test management fundamentals, requirements, and processes.
• Manages multiple test programs spread throughout different phases of the test process to ensure each test program progresses through the process timely and efficiently.
• Manages the test workload across the team while actively supporting and working on various test programs

Pay Range: $101,420 - $143,324 base salary without locality. The locality will be determined based on the selected candidate's location.

This position is eligible for remote work within the continental United States, no relocation is required nor will it be provided.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DR/DO-02/GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems.
• Specialized experience is defined as experience in test execution and test management. Experience gained in non-federal positions will also be reviewed for specialized experience.
• Must possess a bachelors degree in engineering from an ABET accredited academic institution, or a combination of engineering education and experience. • This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The incumbent must meet or be capable of achieving acquisition certification within the allowed grace period. Applicants must list all completed APDP certifications on their resume.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience leading test teams is highly desired.
• An understanding and experience with Air Force and Department of Defense test methodologies and processes is highly desired.
• An understanding of Air Force test and safety instructions, with specific understanding of Air Force Research Laboratory test and safety instructions is desired.
• An understanding of test range and airspace management and regulations is desired.
• A Master's Degree is desired
• Experience of cultivating and sustaining a professional environment of cooperation, cohesion and teamwork for geographically dispersed teams is desired.
