SpaceWERX is seeking a DO-1101-03, Acquisition Program Manager, to serve as the Portfolio Manager leading execution and performance of portions of the Space Force’s SBIR/STTR portfolio.
- Responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of early-stage and growth-stage investments. This role involves working closely with portfolio companies to drive value creation, optimize performance, and achieve successful transition.
- Shape and direct future investments by providing strategic guidance, leveraging industry connections, and ensuring that portfolio companies achieve their full potential.
- Prepares program briefs, budgets, reports, and correspondence. Establishes procedures, mission objectives, and organization design necessary to streamline operations and break down barriers to mission accomplishment.
- Advises the Director on all matters concerning the mission programs. Collaborates, interacts, coordinates, and directly consults with SF, AF, other governments, DoD, academic, and industry partners. Performs industry outreach and engagement to maximize small business participation.
- Serves as the expert for reviewing and directing the progress of SF technical points of contract (TPOC) or system program office points of contact (SBPOC), and their management of contractors in meeting program objectives.
- Advises SpaceWERX Director of significant actions or problems and recommends solutions. Complies with all security directives and policies, focusing on reviewing companies for FOCI concerns.
- Analyzes complex interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity and develops recommendations to solve problems through reprogramming and adjustment of schedules, funding, and the activities or program participants.
SBIR/STTR Program Execution:
- Oversee the week-to-week execution of the assigned mission area’s SBIR/STTR portfolio.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of SBIR/STTR activities, implementing adjustments as necessary to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop project plans and associated communications documents; track project milestones and deliverables.
- Identify and develop technology transition strategies for portfolio companies within an assigned portfolio.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes to provide informed guidance to portfolio companies and support investment decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and other relevant entities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment with program objectives.
Pay Range: $101,420 - $143,324 base salary without locality. The locality will be determined based on the selected candidates' geographical location.

Required Qualifications
US Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive security clearance
This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing
Applicants must have at least (1) one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level, DR/DO-02, GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Experience gained in non-federal positions will also be reviewed for specialized experience.
This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The incumbent must meet or be capable of achieving acquisition certification within the allowed grace period.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in program management, preferably in a government or defense-related context.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with applications such as Smartsheets, Salesforce, or other collaboration and CRM tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
