Job Overview

This job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions until 02 June 2023. 
 
Serves as the Branch Clerical Assistant for the AFRL Information Directorate, Information Fusion Technology Branch (RIEA), at Rome, NY.   
 
Position duties include but are not limited to: 
 
  • Uses word processing software to create, copy, edit, store retrieve and print forms, memos and letters
  • Uses database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports and presentations.
  • Prepares Final Technical Report packages directed to Unit Records Manager for review by Division and STINFO. 
  • Reviews, prepares documents, and tracks coordination for annual Work Unit Division Reviews. 
  • Assists Management Office with salary report correctness, time card corrections, along with various other duties to ensure proper obligations. 
  • Prepares, consolidates, submits and maintains time and attendance records in accordance with procedures. 
  • Assists Work Unit Managers with edits and data entry to ensure accurate Case File records management.
  • Reviews, processes and finalizes correspondence and documents for grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format. 
  • Establishes, maintains, purges, and disposes of various office records/files in accordance with regulations and procedures that assists with efficient office operation. 
  • Assists Work Unit Managers with edits and data entry into applications/systems to ensure accurate Case File records management.  
  • Develops methods and procedures for office automation tasks.  Requisitions office supplies, printing support, related materials and services. 
  • Maintains supervisors calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and or conferences. 
  • Screens incoming mail to identify what needs to be brought to the attention of the supervisor, referred to appropriate staff, rerouted to others or handled personally. 
  • Monitors suspenses and due dates, bringing issues or conflicts to the supervisor's attention.
  • Receives telephone calls and ascertains the nature of the calls. 
  • Personally answers non-technical request for information or refers caller to appropriate staff member.

Required Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is experience directly related to the position that was performed at a level equivalent to the grade directly below the position
