The Digital Capabilities Directorate, IZ/IZX seeks to hire a mid-level, DO/DR-02/03 Data Project Manager & Architect to lead the design, execution, governance, and end-to-end project management of groundbreaking data architecture projects critical to AFRL's Science and Technology (S&T) mission. In this high-impact role, you'll take ownership of designing secure, multi-domain data environments, integrating disparate databases into powerful ecosystems, and implementing robust governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance. By driving advancements in data, you will enable AI, machine learning, and real-time data sharing, directly contributing to shaping AFRL's technological superiority and empowering advanced decision-making and operations.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead projects to architect, implement, and manage secure multi-domain data environments that ensure real-time accessibility and interoperability for AFRL stakeholders
  • Design solutions to unify AFRL's disparate databases into a cohesive and integrated data ecosystem, enhancing operational efficiency and advanced analytics
  • Collaborate with existing systems to optimize system functionality and data integrations for seamless performance
  • Ensure the implementation of robust data governance frameworks that comply with mission-critical federal regulations, including security protocols and encryption strategies
  • Scale synthetic data generation frameworks to support simulation, experimentation, and AI-driven innovation across AFRL's technological initiatives
  • Lead initiatives for real-time, multi-domain data sharing to enhance mission readiness and operational superiority
  • Drive the development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies that support AFRL's strategic priorities in Science and Technology

Required Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing multi-domain data architecture projects
  • Track record of successfully implementing synthetic data solutions for simulation and experimentation
  • Current TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Familiarity with DAF-specific data systems or AFRL mission environments
  • Expertise in scaling synthetic data generation frameworks across operational areas for experimentation
  • Knowledge of and experience in software development life cycle best practices (including Agile)
  • Hand-on experience with emerging technologies, such as autonomous systems, advanced simulations, and multi-domain architectures, with a focus of leading innovation projects
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate across multiple organizations and diverse stakeholders
  • Proven experience utilizing AI tools like machine learning, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics to enhance data environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or have equivalent experience managing multi-domain data architecture projects
