The Integrated Capabilities Directorate (AFRL/RS), AF Transformational Capabilities Office (AFRL/RST)seeks to hire three mid to senior-level, DO/DR-03 or -04 Supervisory Branch Chiefs at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. This is an interdisciplinary leadership opportunity open to current Federal Civilian employees eligible for a lateral DR-03 or 04 (GS-14 or 15 equivalent) assignment. The incumbents will serve as either the AFRL/RSTA, RSTC, or RSTE Branch Chief, and each will normally supervise 8-12 personnel (total of civilians, military, and contractors).

1. Branch Chief, Transformational Decision Support (RSTA)
RSTA Mission Overview: Provides analysis, intelligence, and planning support for enterprise-level, multidisciplinary S&T efforts to inform and facilitate planning and execution of leap ahead warfighting capabilities.
2. Branch Chief, Transformational Combat Effects (RSTC)
RSTC Mission Overview: Identifies and leads planning and execution of multidisciplinary efforts through enterprise-level, cross organizational processes to develop and demonstrate S&T required to enable leap ahead, offensive and defensive, warfighting combat effects.
3. Branch Chief, Transformational Enablers (RSTE)
RSTE Mission Overview: Identifies and leads planning and execution of multidisciplinary efforts through enterprise-level, cross organizational processes to develop and demonstrate cross-cutting S&T required to enable leap ahead warfighting capabilities.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manages various aspects of the branch personnel resources and facilitates programmatic planning, execution and reporting in accordance with TCO’s 6.2 (e.g., Explore) and 6.3 (e.g., WARTECH) processes.
- Facilitates applied research and advanced technology demonstrations planning, execution and reporting within relevant portfolios and branch functions (analytics, intel, etc.).
- Oversees program management activities to accelerate integrated technology demonstrations and facilitates successful programmatic execution of TCO programs.
- Oversees development of near-/mid-/far-term portfolio plans identifying technology areas for R&D to provide integrated technology solutions aligned to Directorate priorities.
- Facilitates interactions with industrial, international, operational and acquisition communities as well as other US Government agencies on matters pertaining to new technologies and their application to solve operational requirements.
- Supervises personnel, champions workforce development, and directs branch activities to include setting objectives, planning, designing, and directing work to meet evolving directorate priorities.
- Builds partnerships with pertinent branches across AFRL to enhance AFRL’s transformational program teaming.
- As first-level supervisor, hires, mentors, and develops employees within the branch.
- Performs long-range planning of manpower and supports programmatic planning activities within branch scope, defends the resources needed to achieve organizational goals, and expertly guides the implementation of resources in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience (SES) at the DR/DO-03 (GS-14 equivalent) or DR/DO-04 (GS-15 equivalent) for lateral assignment consideration.
- This is an interdisciplinary position. Applicants must be able to meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards of the occupational series 0assigned when the position is filled. - This is a supervisory position. Incumbent may be subject to a supervisory probation period.
- The incumbent may be subject to random drug testing.
- PCS may or may not be paid.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical Certification in Engineering and Technical Management. Experience requirement is 4 years; and the selectee will have 60-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. Applicants must list all completed APDP certifications on their resume.
- Position is eligible for telework but the employee must live within the commuting area of Wright-Patterson AFB.
