The AFRL Architecture and System Engineering (AFRL/RSA) is seeking to fill multiple positions (0080, 08XX, 22XX, and 15XX series) at the DR-02, 03, and 04 levels.
Opportunities exist for Engineering, Security, Cybersecurity and Operations Research:
- Engineering (DR- 02/03/04) Engages the joint and coalition community to design and evaluate an architecture that will connect any sensor to any shooter irrespective of service or coalition. Identifies, assesses, and matures innovative and affordable concepts meeting current and future AF needs through multi-domain expertise, analytics, and modeling, simulation & analysis tool development.
- Security Specialist (DO 02/03/04) Serves as a security specialist, providing information, industrial, and personnel security program function in support of the organization. Developing and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites.
- Cybersecurity Specialist (DO/02/03/04 or GS/13/14) Work that involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization.
- Operations Research Analyst (DR 02/03/04) Plans and manages budget and contract requirements to execute division portfolio in order to support the development of architectures, and operational experimentations and advanced prototyping activities to explore and validate future war-fighting concepts.
Position duties for all openings include but are not limited to:
- Performs multidisciplinary work involving the application of science and/or engineering principles to plan, organize, direct and coordinate significant and complex capability development projects and/or processes.
- Applies expert knowledge and advanced scientific/engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to ensure assigned projects/processes remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies.
- Applies a number of diverse practices, techniques, and processes to identify and resolve difficult issues, as well as ensure resolutions are consistent with program objectives, existing policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrates a mastery of, and skill in applying, innovative multi-disciplinary practices, techniques, and methodology to identify, analyze, and resolve issues; ensures resolutions are consistent with program objectives.
- Demonstrates creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements.
- Collaborates, interacts, coordinates, and/or directly consults with AF, DoD, other government agencies, academic, and industry partners.
- Provides analytics to identify, assess, and mature innovative and affordable technology and concepts meeting future AF needs

Required Qualifications
-Degree requirements as applicable to specific career fields.
-Individuals must meet all license, acquisition certifications, security, etc., requirements at the time of appointment or be on an approved waiver prior to being placed on the position.
-Positions may have APDP coding specific to the applicable career field.
-Must be able to obtain or maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI access in the applicable career field..
-Demonstrable experience in the applicable career field.
Desired Qualifications
-An Advanced Academic Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution is highly desired
-Experience working in cross-organizational teams or programs
