AFRL's Information and Spectrum Warfare Directorate (RF-Kirtland) is seeking a highly-skilled administrative professional to assist the Director with management of internal administrative operations, day-to-day planning, and special projects. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversees and administers the administrative support functions for the organization. Organizes and successfully executes a variety of diverse and/or high-visibility special projects, events, taskers, and meetings.

  • Applies analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and resolve problems. Plans and carries out projects of a procedural nature to improve the efficiency and productivity of three-letter organizational operations.

  • Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office records/files, procedures, operating instructions, and process design to maximize administrative staff effectiveness, automating and streamlining procedures whenever possible to serve the best interests of the organization. Represents leadership at meetings and conferences concerning administrative topics, communicating the organization’s ideas and interests.

  • Serves as the primary administrative specialist performing various administrative and procedural duties in support of the organization. Uses office automation software to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Processes, prepares, and reviews a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources. Schedules and updates appointments and meetings based on personal knowledge of workload and current issues, coordinating with the principal or supervisor as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with developing new methods, criteria, policies, or precedents for business management or a professional field
  • Experience in customer service/support functions
  • Experience in contributing as a lead, or key front office team member, performing substantive analytical or professional duties in support of the organizational mission
