The AFRL Site Information Technology Support Branch (RQIC) located at Edwards AFB, CA seeks to fill a mid-level, DO-1101-02, Acquisition Management Specialist position. Responsible for managing, planning, coordinating and executing assigned areas of IT programs for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Aerospace Systems Directorate (RQ), Site Support Division (RQI), Site Information Technology Support Branch (RQIC), Edwards AFB, CA.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as group lead responsible for developing integration and action plans for areas of approved technology strategies and projects for the site
- Advising branch leadership with development and execution of budget
- Evaluating current and emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, compatibility and usability
- Consulting with customers and subject matter experts to identify, refine and document functional requirements
- Conducting feasibility studies and analysis of alternatives of proposed solutions
- Analyzing and refining system requirements to ensure customer requirements are being addressed
- Coordinating with system developers and customers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components
- Conducting business process reengineering to ensure delivered products and services are able to meet customer needs
- Evaluating and monitoring existing technology refresh strategies for thoroughness and capability.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
- Must have one year experience of specialized experience at the DO-01 (GS-11 or equivalent) grade level
- This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring level 2-Practitioner, Non-Critical certification in Program Management (A). The selectee will have 24-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Project Management Experience
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders to solve problems and achieve shared objectives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workload across competing priorities and work efficiently with others towards a common goal
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Degree specializing in Program Management
- PMP Certification
- Knowledge of and experience with programming languages
