The Corporate Human Resources Operations Branch (AFRL/RYHC), Sensors Directorate seeks to hire a mid-level HR/Training Management Advisor, DO-0343-02, in Dayton, Ohio.
This position is open to candidates currently at the DO-01 (or equivalent grade) level eligible for promotion and/or current DO-02 (or equivalent grade) level candidates for reassignment.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for Training, Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) and HR Advisor duties.
- Manages Training and APDP requirements for Directorate. Working directly with Branch Chief and SPA, incumbent will engage leadership to determine appropriate methods for deploying training requirements utilizing current Air Force Systems and Directorate specific web-based applications.
- Performs duties in support of overall division & directorate programs, projects, and initiatives. Researches, interprets, analyzes, and applies OPM, DoD, AF, AFMC, AFRL and local regulatory guidance and policy directives pertaining to the personnel/manpower functional areas.
- Responsible for organizational and manpower change requests to modify the structure and positions within the Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate.
- Makes recommendations regarding the propriety of organizational, supervisory, and employee transactions and processes.
- Analyzes reports and statistical information on the organization, management, and personnel to discern the factual status of transactions, manning postures, etc., and to project trends and troubleshoot problems.
- Provides special support and counsel in areas of expertise to supervisors for the resolution of challenging and complex issues.
- Prepares written findings, analyses, and evaluation of areas under study and proposes solutions, improvements, and/or recommendations.
- Provides management advisory services and determines source & qualifications for actions. Recommends recruiting sources, staffing support, and guidance for non-DHA recruitment actions. Determines basic eligibility & qualifications for DHA recruitment actions. Interprets laws, regulations, rules, and local policies for management and ensures compliance.
- Regularly meets with management officials to discuss work status and to stay informed of issues, new workload, long-range personnel end-state needs, challenges encountered, and other matters that would impact civilian employees.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Applicants must have least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DO-01, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or certification in Human Resources is highly desired.
• Knowledge and experience with training and APDP, to include familiarity with electronic training systems and processes.
• Skill to communicate effectively with Sensors Directorate or AFRL Senior Leaders on civilian personnel matters.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with peers while being comfortable working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing, complex work environment.
