This job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions until 05 November 24. The Air Force Office of Scientific Research, AFOSR/DD, seeks to hire a mid-level, DO-I Risk Identification and Security Countermeasures (RISC) Analyst in Arlington, VA.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for performing in-depth research using classified and open-source databases to profile known and unknown risks to AFRL/AFOSR assets.
- Conducts risk-based security review assessments, examines aggregated intelligence/counterintelligence data, and presents risk review findings to appropriate AFRL/AFOSR personnel to aid in risk-informed decision-making by Directorate leadership and science and technology (S&T) subject-matter experts (SMEs).
- Increases all-source research/analytics skills through formalized training and engages with AFRL Enterprise RISC Analysts to ensure consistent and holistic risk review capabilities.
- Liaises with S&T Protection functions leads to developing and implementing countermeasures for the protection of the AFRL/AFOSR portfolios from espionage, terrorism, intellectual property theft, and other identified threats to National Security.
- Develops metrics based on aggregated data to provide leadership based on risk identification across the
portfolios. - Provides and develops threat awareness training and education to the Directorate.
- Serves as Data Manager. Responsible for maintaining, updating, and retrieving RISC assessments for AFOSR.
- Serves as Unit Safety Manager.

Required Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience at GS-05 meets the minimum qualification requirement for broadband level DO-1.
- Series 0343 Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions: General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov)
- United States Citizenship
- The ability to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance
