The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Security Force advisor to the AFRL DET 4/CC and management authority for DAF civilian police personnel assigned to the Security Forces under the Integration and Operations Division. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide program leadership and management advice to installation leadership regarding planning, organizing, training, and equipping civilian police personnel to perform installation security roles and missions.
- Publish guidance and instructions on effective use of police officers for integrated defense, vulnerability assessments, risk assessment, loss mitigation, and police services.
- Write processes and plans based on installation security instructions that form the basis for installation security operations.
- Analyze applicability of guidelines and proposes regulatory or procedural changes to management and other security professionals to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of security controls.
- Prepare forms, memorandums, and/or briefings to implement security directives.
- Exercise unit leadership through the direction of subordinate supervisors.
- Present study findings and security recommendations to leadership and higher authority.
- Evaluate medical screening requirements, job compatibility assessments, and background investigative standards in order to comply with MAJCOM policy guidance.
- Implement MAJCOM guidance to comply with training standards for federal and installation level police officer certification, weapons qualification standards, ancillary training requirements, and duty position certification policy.
- Apply risk management principles & methodologies to ensure critical assets are protected.
- Assess requirements for additional Antiterrorism/Force Protection/Physical Security measures during contingencies and emergency situations.
- Interact with other agencies and local law enforcement authorities to work together and share information on community issues and threats.
- Maintain liaison with HQ AFMC Security Forces, Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and all local law enforcement agencies.

Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
- This position requires the following certifications IAW with AFI 36-2645: Physical Security Certification (PSC), Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
- Must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the D0-01, or equivalent in other pay systems
