The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), Warfighter Interactions and Readiness Division (RHW), Warfighter Interfaces Branch (RHWI), seeks to hire a mid-level, DR-02/DR-03 Cyber Research Team Lead in Dayton, Ohio. The Cyber Research Lead will guide novel design, experimentation, implementation, and transition of cyber interfaces and visualization supporting diverse Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) capabilities. Research includes interpreting features and communications in computer networking and cyber-security to discover innovative methods enhancing rapid understanding of cyber-attacks, malware, and associated behaviors of humans and human-machine teams.
Position duties include but are not limited to:
- Interact with Military and Civilian DoD personnel and experts across industry and academia to identify and analyze advanced Cyber analysis and visualization concepts.
- The Cyber Research Team Lead will cultivate customer relationships and work across the organization to develop novel ideas and transition implementations into deliverable products.
- The Team Lead will grow collaborations across AFRL and other DoD organizations and identify opportunities to integrate AFRL research into existing and maturing Government efforts and capabilities.
- Team Lead must be able to perform limited program management tasks and work effectively with program managers

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
- This is a Testing Designated Position. The incumbent may be subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment and participation in random drug testing.

- This position requires the filing of the OGE 450
- This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position and requires a Level 2 certification. The selectee will have 24 months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained
- This position may be filled as a 5-year Flexible Length and Renewable Term Technical Appointment (new government hires, current government term employees, etc.) with the option to later convert to a permanent appointment.
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to DR-01/DR-02 in the Federal Service or equivalent in an alternate pay system.

Desired Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an accredited MS degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- A solid background in all aspects of the Government product life cycle.
- Understanding and appreciation of the system/software development process and the ability to effectively participate in that process.
- Technical software development skills and Cyber Analysis knowledge.
- Understanding Government funding and contract vehicle management.
- Have an understanding of how products go from idea to reality in software products.
- Ability to analyze projects to determine if other government work can be tied into current projects.
- Generalized understanding of government research and development contracts.
- An understanding of the government funding process.
- Have a basic understanding of computer networking, cyber-security and related human factors considerations.
- Possess a Cyber Analysis background.
