The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) Government Special Access Program Security Officer (GSSO), ensuring the program complies with legal and regulatory requirements while meeting customer needs.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
Act as the Government Special Access Program Security Officer (GSSO), assisting with the administration and evaluation of the functional management aspects of the DOD Special Security Programs.
Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Government Special Access Program Security program, supporting critical research and development.
Develop goals and objectives that support the Information Protection needs of the organization.
Implement regulatory guidance for Classification Management and Safeguarding requirements and facilitate the application of national security policy to protect classified holdings.
Research, interpret, analyze and apply security guidelines, programs, methods, and procedures to execute a comprehensive security program.
Provide security awareness training to employees.
Investigate security incidents and breaches.
Coordinate with other agencies to process security actions and address security concerns.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade: DO-01, GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is experience directly related to the position that was performed at a level equivalent to the grade directly below the position.
This position requires the following certifications; IAW with AFI 36-2645: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC). Selectees will have 2 years to obtain the required certifications.
