The Hybrid Architecture Demonstration program in AFRL/RVEN assesses military utility of a hybrid architecture of commercial and allied capabilities supporting USSF mission needs. The program focuses on the development and assessment of tools to leverage existing, diverse commercial and allied ISR capabilities for warfighter use.
The program manager for the Hybrid Architecture Demonstration, in coordination with branch and portfolio leadership, manages, organizes, and prioritizes work across a multi-disciplinary and geographically disparate team of 20+ military, civilian, and contractor scientists and engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing program cost, schedule, and performance; managing multiple contracts, especially Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contracts; and engaging with contractors on exploratory and new capabilities.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, mature, deliver and execute multi-disciplined bench-to-battlefield commercial and allied space capability and products in support of USSF customers in the ISR mission area.
- Support AFRL and USSF interactions with Hybrid Space Architecture strategy, technology capabilities, and resources.
- Support interface with commercial space providers, space and non-space technology experts and companies (including non-traditional applications) to assess their products, approaches, and technologies for integration into the tactical ISR space enterprise.
- Establish partner teams within US and Allied government to assess commercial technologies with potential DoD space architecture applications.
- Build and sustain value-additive and mission-enabling strategic relationships with commercial space providers, space and non-space technology experts, and companies, including but not limited to UARCs, FFRDCs, government, and other representatives supporting current and potential future partner customer organizations.
- Coordinate closely with personnel across multiple USSF organizations to facilitate integration of commercial space capabilities and services within the space and warfighting enterprises.
- Participate in technical forums and draft and publish thought pieces on hybrid space capabilities and services to develop/maintain relationships and inform/educate government and industry.

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship.
- Must possess a professional science or engineering (S&E) degree from an accredited academic institution.
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DR-02/GS-13 or equivalent grade level. Specialized experience is experience providing the capacity and skills for working independently, leading collaborative events, working in teams and using these approaches to find and solve complex problems. Such experience may also include training, collaborative process facilitation, innovation design practice, writing background, editing job roles, continuous process improvement credentials, multi-agency liaison work, published work in refereed technical journals, and/or briefings to large groups.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Must be willing to travel both nationally and internationally up to 50-70 days per year.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Practitioner Non-Critical certification in Engineering & Technical Management (N). The selectee will have 24-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. Applicants for this position must list any acquisition certifications and status as an acquisition corps member in their resume.

- Experience in commercial space systems technologies, capabilities, and acquisition.
- Knowledge of DoD space missions including ground communications, ISR, and space control.
- Established relationships with the DoD space ecosystem including requirements, acquisition organizations, operations, research, and development.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills to communicate complex topics to both technical and leadership audiences.
