Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop innovative approaches for opportunistic, non-traditional, and distributed sensor development to include approaches using inferencing similar to Measurement & Signatures Intelligence (MASINT) methods. Will advance research in aggregating sensor data from heterogeneous multi-domain sources.
- Support the sensor technology community as an expert in technology development and transition. Connecting operations to Research and Development (R&D) for requirements generation.
- Lead/manage all aspects of subordinate/team efforts with complete accountability for mission and program success.
- Formulate short- and long-term teaming/collaboration strategies across organizations/disciplines.
- Will need to have or learn to understand high-level technical requirements for hybrid-cloud Information Technology (IT), cyber-physical devices, critical infrastructure, test & evaluation, mobile device programming, ad hoc / mesh networking, and edge platforms.
- Build collaborative relationships across broad functional and technical areas and engages with leaders at the national and/or international level.
- Author and direct authoritative reports, documents, and presentations integrating multiple disciplines.
- Perform assessments supporting complex research programs developing sensor exploitation algorithms for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), Critical Infrastructure, SCADA systems, and Command and Control (C2) applications for Air Force operators.
- Responsible for technology development to drive sensing approaches and design goals for solutions of sensor deployment in challenging environments.
- Conduct and manage both in-house and contractual programs to advance techniques, theories, and infrastructure to exploit ISR sensor data and advocates and leads Research and Development efforts with other agencies.
- Advise and assist with developing strategic plans and identifying resources needed to accomplish technical objectives in support of both internal and external Research and Development efforts.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Possess a professional science or engineering (S&E) degree, in a relevant technical field, from an accredited academic institution.
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or equivalent in other pay systems.
- This is a drug testing position.
- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Engineering & Technical Management (N), Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-critical acquisition certification. The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving acquisition certification witihin 60 months after assignment. This position also requires the emplolyee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activiities achieving 80 continuous learning points every 24 months. *Applicants must list all completed APDP certifications on their resume.
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience as a R&D team lead.
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience in R&D work unit management.
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience with on-site contractor support staff.
- Selectee is required to submit annual Confidential Financial Disclosure (OGE Form 450).
- Ability to accept 80% solutions and execute without the other 20%.

- Previous technical experience in Cyber-Physical Sensing, Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT) or Critical Infrastructure.
- Interest or passion working with Internet-of-Things (IoT), mobile communication devices and cellular networks.
- Ability to motivate, develop, and grow technical teams.
- Ability to support and enable organization program, mission, vision, values, and promote a culture of innovation.
- Ability to help workforce advance, accept change, and continuously improve ability to contribute to the Department of Air Force mission.
