Position duties include, but are not limited to:

Engages with multi-disciplinary teams to design, analyze, model, manufacture and assemble research level flight systems; leads composition and coordination of flight test documentation.

Leads project engineering activities, to include project formulation, system engineering, resource management, task execution and performance reporting.

Engages with senior team members in strategy-to-task planning, formulation and implementation of approaches to advance flight research effectiveness and increase responsiveness to rapidly emerging requirements.

Leads exploration of enabling technologies and innovative concepts to reduce flight research costs and enhance mission effectiveness.

Leads identification, capture, derivation, assessment and allocation of flight test requirements.

Guides investigation of novel designs, maturation of enabling technologies and exploration of advanced concepts.

Collaborates with broad, multi-disciplinary teams to develop technologies, concepts and instrumentation to increase the effectiveness of flight test systems and delivery approaches.

Collaborates across diverse and geospatially dispersed multi-national teams to advance the development of strategies which enhance future flight test capabilities.

Conducts numerical analyses and digital simulations to model multi-disciplinary problems and resolve complex interactions between aerothermodynamics, structural dynamics, & flight dynamics.

Establishes and advances communication channels with internal and external flight test providers and capability services. Advances engagement w/ DoD customers & stakeholders; NASA, US Intel Agencies, US industry and academia.

Engages across flight test teams to coordinate composition and staffing of safety documentation and flight safety procedures; engages with test range operations, security and safety officers.

For 0801/0861/0830 Series: must possess a professional science or engineering (S&E) degree from an accredited academic institution. Applicant must list degree information on resume to include any professional military education.

This is a Non-Critical Acquisition Position, requiring Engineering and Technical Management (ETM) Practitioner. The selectee will have 24-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. Applicant must list all completed acquisition certification on resume.

Must have 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade (or equivalent) for consideration.

Excellent technical communication ability to include briefings, reports, papers, and other publications.

Experience with high speed flight vehicle technologies, systems and advanced concepts.

Experience with ground and flight test of aerospace systems.

Experience with test range safety procedures and operational constructs

Test & Evaluation (T&E) Foundational/Practitioner APDP certification desired.

Current SECRET clearance / eligible for TS clearance

BS from accredited university
