Job Overview

This announcement is for current AFRL employees interested in a lateral reassignment of 0861 or 0830 at the DR-03 or DR-04 only; promotion candidates will not be considered.  Applications will be accepted through 7 SEP 2023.
 
Position duties include: 
  • Serves as the Division’s primary senior scientific and technical authority overseeing efforts of a diverse workforce of approximately 175 government civilians, military members, and contractors executing an annual budget of about $100M.
  • Works with Division leadership team to create and implement long-term science and technology development strategies for the organization, ensures consistency and alignment with AFRL strategies and goals.
  • Works with Division and Directorate leadership to plan and manage 6.1 and 6.2 aerospace vehicle research efforts and supports internal and external reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Must meet basic qualifications IAW OPM Qualification Group and Individual Standards.
  • This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (N). This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
