- We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative researcher with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in human genomics. As a Research Biological Scientist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of human performance and genomics research within the Air
- Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
- You will lead our Genomics Team spearheading cutting-edge research initiatives and directing a diverse team of military members, government civilians, and support contractors. Your multidisciplinary approach, drawing from fields such as microbiology, physiology, genetics, toxicology, and more, will enable you to study the relationship between humans and their environment, and drive breakthrough discoveries.
- With a focus on applying systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable methods, you will manage projects in areas including genomics, transcriptomics, synthetic/molecular and systems biology, and biotechnology. You will design and conduct experiments, analyze results, publish papers and technical reports, and present your findings to both internal and external audiences.
- Your work will have a direct impact on human performance and other mission-critical challenges faced by the Air Force, and you will be responsible for determining the best approach to achieving biological science objectives. Additionally, you will collaborate with other experts within and outside of AFRL, and maintain a technical and programmatic awareness of the latest technological and research advancements in the field.

Required Qualifications
- Flexible Length and Renewable Term Technical Appointments. This appointment type is used to appoint individuals who are not currently DoD civilian employees into any scientific, technical, engineering, and mathematic positions, including technicians, for a period of more than one year but not more than six years.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- This position may require travel.
- These are Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) positions and require a Level 2 certification (Practitioner). The selectee will have 24 months to meet APDP requirements or waiver must be obtained.
