The 711 Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), Warfighter Interactions and Readiness (RHW) division, Mission Analystics (RHWA) branch, seeks to hire a mid-level, DR-02 General Engineer in Dayton, Ohio. Potentional selectee will be providing expertise and advise throughout the Air Force and department of Defense on matters pertaining to current and future weapons systems within the field of aeronautical, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance, space/missile, cyberspace, munitions and medical enterprises.
Position duties include but are not limited to:
- Utilizes multidisciplinary knowledge in Human Systems integration, providing expertise and advice throughout the Air Force and Department of Defense on matters pertaining to current and future weapons systems within the field of aeronautical, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance, space/missile, cyberspace, munitions, and medical enterprises.
- Performs craftsman-level professional work requiring professional knowledge of human focused engineering applications and critical analysis.
- Performs technical mid-level professional work.
- Plans, organizes, and accomplishes studies, analyses, and evaluations of requirements, plans, projects, policies, procedures to develop the basis of institutionalizing human performance consideration throughout a weapons system's lifecycle.
- Uses technical knowledge of control/display integration, visual, and audio displays, controls, labeling, physical accommodation, workspace design, environment design for the maintainer, design of remote handling equipment, small systems and equipment, hazards and safety to meet the business requirements of customer organizations.Provides mid-level advice and consultant services for command functions related to human focused requirements and testing of materiel for human effectiveness, suitability, and safetyProvides mid-level advice and consultant services for command functions related to human focused requirements and testing of materiel for human effectiveness, suitability and safety.

- This is a Testing Designated Position. The incumbent may be subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing

- This position may require the filing of the OGE 450. Applicant will be notified upon acceptance of the position.
- These are Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) positions, and require a Level 2 certification (Practitioner). The selectee will have 24 months to meet APDP requirements or waiver must be obtained
- This position may be filled as a 5-year Flexible Length and Renewable Term Technical Appointment (new government hires, current government term employees, etc.) with the option to later convert to a permanent appointment

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary research teams conducting basic and applied research on human machine interface design and evaluation for next-generation Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission sets. Examples of topic areas include (a) investigating and modeling cognitive requirements for future ISR missions (b) design of human-autonomy interfaces to facilitate multi-domain sensor collection, processing, exploitation, and product generation (c) visualizations to improving understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) reasoning and outputs.
- The goal is to effectively team human cognition with AI/ML to harness the power of multi-domain sensing to improve battlespace understanding and increase speed of warfighter decision making.
- Experience or background in any or all of the following: Human Factors, Cognitive or Perceptual Psychology, Data Visualization, Systems Modeling Language, Management of Autonomous Sensing, Sensor Fusion (ground, air, space and cyber sensors), development and application of AI/ML technology, and program management expertise to meet Warfigher needs.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school is highly desired.
