      This position is only open to current DR-02 & DR-03 (or equivalent grade) level candidates for reassignment. The salary range for this position, including the Dayton, OH locality pay is (DR-02 $90,742 - $142,488) (DR-03: $126,495 - $178,759).

      Duties include but are not limited to:

      • Leads and conducts research and advanced development in radio frequency (RF) technology. Specific areas of expertise include advanced signal processing, advanced waveform and radar design, modeling, simulation analysis, and data collection.
      • Directs and executes in-house efforts with and evaluates contractor results to determine the feasibility of advanced signal processing concepts. Leads and conducts detailed scientific studies and investigations on complex scientific problems where guidelines are limited.
      • Writes and/or co-authors technical papers reporting on complex information, concepts, and ideas pertaining to distributed RF sensing technology.
      • Studies and evaluates engineering and analysis submitted by academia and contractor personnel and renders a scientific judgment. May lead or manage contractual efforts in RF technology and provide technical oversight to AF-sponsored technical efforts.
      • Represents the Air Force Research Laboratory to outside organizations.

  • Desired Qualifications:
      • Knowledge of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and/or Moving Target Indication (MTI).
      • Knowledge of radio frequency sensing systems, including functions, design approaches, and performance metrics thereof.
      • Experience related to research and development of RADAR sensing systems and concepts.
