      The Nuclear Mission Branch, Space Vehicles Directorate, RVBNI seeks to hire a mid-level Technical Project Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prometheus is an AFRL-led partnership with government and commercial space industry for high-cadence, recoverable, reliable, and cost-effective orbital and hypersonic reentry experiments. Its multiple platforms offer exposure to Mach 25+ flight environments and payload recovery for Technology Readiness Level advancement and Science & Technology maturation.

      Position duties include, but are not limited to:

      • Identifies and manages technical performance deliverables, schedule and cost/ risks.
      • Prepares, analyzes, coordinates, assigns, integrates, and maintains project plans.
      • Prepares and participates in Program Reviews, Baseline Reviews, Readiness Reviews and other project or management reviews.
      • Prepares schedule, reports; monitors metrics, change activity; communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.
      • Leads and delegates team’s responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle.
      • Coordinates change management processes and communicates decisions and best practices to stakeholders.
      • Acts as primary project contact to establish key customer requirements and project objectives.
      • Supports program manager with project execution, deliverables, and stakeholder partnerships.

  • Required Qualifications:
      • United States Citizenship
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance
      • 5+ years experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Gantt charts, MS PowerPoint, status charts, resource load charts)
      • 5+ years leading engineering teams across multiple functions
      • 5+ years experience directly managing customer relationships as the primary point of contact
  • Desired Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, science or related field.
      • Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, science or related field.
      • 5+ years in defining, designing, and planning projects within cost and schedule
      • MBA
