The Information Directorate (RI), Information Protection Branch (RIOI) is seeking to hire a mid-level DO-1, Security Specialist (0080) in Rome, NY.
- The Security Specialist is responsible for implementing and developing local procedures, planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the AFRL/RI Industrial Security Program.
- Ensures DD Form 254, Contract Security Classification Specification, and other documentation is on file for contract companies authorized for access to government classified information.
- Ensures contractor's access to classified information meets all guidance.
- Contributes to all aspects of Industrial Security for RI and on site defense contractors.
- Interprets regulatory guidance for Classification Management and Safeguarding requirements.
- Facilitates the application of national security policy to protect classified holdings, one-of-a-kind research, and other valuable and sensitive national resources under the management or operational control of the User Agency and DoD contractors.

- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Security Investigation.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- This position requires the following certifications IAW with AFI 36-2645: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
